March Picture Books

As the snow melts away, March slowly shifts from winter to spring. This month’s picture books are about new life, hope, and renewal. You’ll find stories of seeds sprouting, gardens growing, and nature waking up—alongside meaningful books that point to the joy and wonder of Christ’s Resurrection, while helping to prepare our hearts for Easter.

I have a lot of favorites here! Plant the Tiny Seed is a fun, interactive book that toddlers and preschoolers love! Flower Fairies of the Spring—and the rest of Cicely Mary Barker’s collection—bring back sweet memories for me because my mom kept the set on my dresser when I was a girl.

The Donkey Who Carried a King is a beautifully told story, and Brian Wildsmith’s illustrations in The Easter Story are so intricate and stunning.
